Buuruljuut is more than a lignite-based power plant; it is a key component of a long‑term, sustainable energy ecosystem being developed to help Mongolia achieve energy independence. The explosive growth of technology worldwide is impossible without a stable, reliable energy supply. With phased commissioning of the plant’s first unit beginning in 2024, Buuruljuut will positively impact the daily lives of Ulaanbaatar residents, improve business continuity, and stimulate regional development in the project area.
